Nikki Peterson – GM StretchLab Ashmore
StretchLab’s assisted stretching sessions are individually tailored by our qualified Flexologists, where we help you achieve better movement and flexibility through actively & passively assisting you through each stretch in a hands on approach. Our stretching sessions are designed to help you get the best out of your muscles and their movement, by applying gentle force to help lengthen muscles and mobilise joints.
Stretching has always been a key to better movement and long term wellness, but with assisted stretching we can help you take your flexibility to the next level by helping individuals achieve movement they couldn’t ascertain themselves. In studio we utilise the stretching technique of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) – The method of stretching, contracting and then relaxing the targeted muscle groups. PNF stretching is a highly effective way to increase range of motion, as through that contraction we help the muscle relieve the tension all while strengthening the connection between the nervous system and the muscle to improve the “communication” between the two, gradually improving not just flexibility but our coordination and motor skills. Not only is it difficult to achieve proper PNF techniques solo, by having a guided session with your Flexologist you can ensure controlled movement that helps control the intensity of the stretch all while maintaining safe body positioning.
If you want to help your body move better, feel better, ache less and or recovery faster from exercise or just daily life – assisted stretching may just be the answer you’re needing. We’ve seen in our Ashmore studio first hand and across all the StretchLab studios nationwide how assisted stretching can help improve the daily mundane tasks such as tying shoe laces, to performing your best on game day, and everything else in between. Additionally to the obvious physical benefits assisted stretching can have, there’s also a big impact found on our stress levels and sleep in our clients. Effective stretching of the muscles can help increase blood flow and circulation, promoting body and mind relaxation by regulating our nervous system naturally.
Testimonial from Client:
“At 71 years old, overweight, and with very limited flexibility, I honestly didn’t think much could change — until I discovered StretchLab Ashmore. I was recommended to give it a try, and I can honestly say it’s been life-changing. The professional, friendly, and accommodating staff made me feel comfortable from day one. Their guided stretching sessions have improved my flexibility beyond anything I thought possible. Most importantly, the sessions have completely relieved the lower back pain that had troubled me for years. I’m truly grateful to the team at StretchLab Ashmore for helping me move better, feel better, and regain confidence in my body.” – Glenn Hare
